Beyond my professional career as a design leader, I’m someone who thrives on creativity and curiosity. I find joy in playing musical instruments (guitar and drums) and enjoying board games with friends and family, which offer me a fresh perspective on life and work.
Raised in Michigan/Indiana, I learned the value of hard work, perseverance, and creative curiosity. I’m driven by my desire to make things and let out my creative energy, always seeking new ways to grow and connect with the world around me.
When I'm not working, I’m likely spending time playing video games with my son, Gabriel, or enjoying travel with my wife, Dianna, reminding myself that life is about the balance between work and play.
Just outside South Bend, Indiana. I grew up in Michigan and have lived around Michigan/Indiana most of my life. I live a couple miles from the University of Notre Dame with my wife Dianna and son Gabe (12). I am what the college kids would call a “townie.” Love it here – a great place to make friends and raise a family.
I did graphic design in high school, doing ads for phone books and billboards. I stumbled upon it when the owner of the ad company saw one of my drawings and asked if I could do it digitally on a computer. I had no idea if I could, but I dove headlong into Photoshop and eventually learned my way around the program.
In college, I worked for a web hosting company where I learned about server administration, coding, and web design. After graduating I landed a gig as a lead web developer for a large manufacturing company. My big break came when I took part in launching a mobile app company and we launched apps that become viral hits. From there, I moved on to work in project management and design leadership within enterprise corporations.
I play guitar and enjoy board games such as Gloomhaven, Wingspan, and Dune Imperium. I also enjoy hiking, nature, and camping.
I'm passionate about mentoring young designers and am involved in initiatives that promote diversity in the tech industry.
I volunteer as a board member for Ave Maria Press, one of the largest and oldest book publishers in the United States. I also volunteer and attend my local Catholic Parish, St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Back in the early days of smartphones, I helped launch an app business. We managed the release of more than twenty apps, including Confession: A Roman Catholic App, which reached #1 in Lifestyle in the U. S. for over four months on the iPhone and iPad App Store, and Missio, the first app launched by a Catholic Pope.
